This is a quick book review on the book New World Ronin by Victor Pride from boldanddetermined.com
The book is an easy to read at just 169 pages.
It’s so easy to read I read it twice.
I also read it twice because I enjoyed it that much.
The book is about achieving success in this world and how to do it.
It is written in the theme of a samurai Bushido manual and the most interesting thing i found about it is the pace of the writing.
Most success-related books exist to transfer information from the book to the reader. In other words the words on the page are taken at face value.
New World Ronin is a bit different in that the pace and repetition of the writing sets a tone and rhythm in the mind of the reader that builds momentum with each page.
The main theme that I got from the book is the importance of momentum and ever-increasing focus.
Work, build and focus. Keep gathering momentum along the way.
The book is full of metaphors like what it takes to win over “Lady Luck” and how those who create great things often have to travel off to an “island” out of touch from the rest of the world to create their greatness.
The use of the word “Ronin” is also a metaphor.
New World Ronin tells of an alternate life to the typical 9-5 wage slave existence.
In feudal Japan a Ronin was a samurai without a master that would wander around working as he traveled.
In New World Ronin, a Ronin is a self-made entrepreneur who has no master or boss.
Victor talks about what it takes to be able to get work done.
He talks about having a “War Room” aka office conducive to work.
He talks about obsession and different types of work.
Black and white work is everyday maintenance that needs to be done. It includes responding to emails, maintaining websites and other repetitive everyday tasks.
Full Color Work is the more important and unique creative work that not everyone can do.
It involves high level thinking and creativity.
New World Ronin discusses getting into the frame of mind for this type of work and building momentum for it as well.
All in all I would highly recommend this book for any interesting person looking to build momentum in areas of success.
It is a well-written and easy read and well worth the time to finish it.

All the Best,
